The so-called "Corona round" started for the women's 40s in Süssen. Wonderful weather - the best conditions for six singles and three doubles this Saturday. In our new blue and white outfits, we were just as radiant as the sky! Since the Süssen club has eight courts and only one other match was taking place at the same time, we were able to start our singles 2, 4, 6 on three courts. Uli, Anne and Deta got ready. The intense sunlight was hard on everyone. Nevertheless, all three games were hard fought and with the following results: Uli: 3:6/0:6; Anne: 6:4/6:2; Deta: 6:4/6:2 A few clouds came up and lay in front of the sun. Lucky for the three following games: Tina, Anette and Nicki from TVG. Anette, just like Uli before, did it smartly and only stayed in the sun for a short time. With a clear victory of 0:6 and 3:6, she pulled her opponent off the court. Nicki and Tina played longer. Nicki treated herself to the match tiebreak and happily won with 6:7, 1:6 and 5:10. Tina now enjoyed the fact that all the courts were empty and all the spectators were on court 2 and all eyes were on her and her Süssen opponent. Tension in 36 degrees! After each winning a set (6:3 and 2:6), it was now time for the match tiebreak. Wonderful rallies dominated this game from the start. Strong running, tricky, smashing - all of this describes this singles. But only one could become Süssen's No.1... and that was: Tina! With an 11:13 she put everyone's spirits at ease after two and a half hours of play! 2:4, the singles result didn't give us much time to think about how the doubles would bring us a secure victory. Tina and Uli in the 1st doubles had to win! No pressure, purely a logical prerequisite! Of course they did that with 1:6/1:6. Anette and Nicki added another point and increased the victory. Result: 3:6/2:6 Anne and Deta were close and fought, but unfortunately had to give up their match with 6:2 and 6:1. The next opponent is Kemnat, away from home. After that there are two more games - the return games against Süssen and Kemnat, then at home.
