TC Oberensingen - TVG 0:6

The spell is broken! Oberensingen is no longer a feared opponent! The amateur men won their first match of the season in Oberensingen on Saturday with a clear and well-deserved 6:0.

Our men won three of the four singles matches clearly: Jean-Patrick and his Oberensinger opponent played a really good match with fast, powerful rallies. But JP ultimately dominated. He won the first set easily 6:0. In the second set, concentration dropped and mistakes crept in. But JP returned to his old strength in time and also won the second set 6:4. Benny also won clearly in the end: after an even start, he was able to pull away in the middle of the first set and win 6:3. The same game then played out in the second set, with Benny winning with a confident 6:2. Ilkin made it more exciting: in the first set, he and his opponent played a balanced match characterized by long rallies and willingness to run. Ilkin was already 1:4 behind, turned the game around and won the set tiebreak. After that, the resistance was broken and Ilkin won the second set clearly 6:1. We were also superior in the duel between the newcomers (Frank, like his opponent, has only been playing tennis in the club since this season). Frank acted more calmly and forced his young, agile opponent to make mistakes again and again. We also clearly won these two sets (6:1 and 6:1). So the decision had already been made after the singles.

In the first doubles, JP and Frank worked well together and also kept the upper hand against the two strongest Oberensingers (6:2 and 6:4). In the second doubles, Werner and Martin were initially influenced by the Oberensingers' style of play and made many careless mistakes. Their will and concentration returned just in time for the set tiebreak. After winning the tiebreak, Werner and Martin left nothing to chance and made short work of the second set (6:0).

Despite the clear defeat, the Oberensingers were, as always, great hosts.

TVG - TC Beuren 6:0

The match against Beuren took place earlier and in Beuren due to scheduling issues. But even on the away court we were able to win confidently and easily with 6:0 and take the second win in the second game. At number 1, Jean-Patrick managed almost everything that day. While Beuren was able to win one game in the first set (6:1), the resistance was broken in the second set and JP made short work of it (6:0). Benny had a little more trouble in his singles. His opponent repeatedly involved him in long rallies. But in the end Benny kept his nerve and calm and won both sets clearly and deservedly (6:4/6:2). Ilkin made it exciting again. He made too many mistakes in the first set and lost it 4:6. In the second set Ilkin improved (6:2). But he then won the decisive match tiebreak clearly and deservedly with 10:5. Robert showed a great performance in his singles. He dictated the game and repeatedly forced his opponent to make mistakes. He deservedly won both sets (6:3/6:2). In doubles 1, JP and II-kin played against a father and son team. We were superior in all areas and Beuren had nothing to counter in its doubles (6:2/6:1). In doubles 2, Benny and Martin started well, but then suddenly nothing worked and Beuren secured the first set (2:6). With strength of will, the two played their way out of the slump and won the second set 6:0. Beuren was beaten and Benny and Martin left nothing to chance in the match tie-break (10:4). The amateur men not only won in Beuren, but also gained a lot of experience. Keep it up!

TVG - TC Linsenhofen 2:4

With Linsenhofen, he was a newly formed team visiting us for the first time. Unfortunately, Kevin was injured in his singles match and the match had to be abandoned when the score was 0:4. Ilkin showed a very consistent and good performance in the second singles match and forced his equally strong opponent to make mistakes again and again. Ilkin deservedly won both sets and thus his match (6:2, 6:2). In the third singles match, Robert's opponent had a good day and returned almost every ball. The first set went to Linsenhofen (5:7). In the second set, Robert went on the attack and put his opponent under pressure at the net. His courage was rewarded by winning the second set (6:3). In the match tiebreak, the game was open for a long time, but in the end the guests had more luck (7:10). Andreas was a little unlucky in the fourth singles match, but in the end the opponent was strong in running and ran after every ball (2:6, 2:6). After the singles match, we were 1:3 behind; A draw would still have been possible.

Linsenhofen made a complete change and brought in fresh players. In the first doubles, Ilkin and Andreas were too strong for the guests. A nice doubles ended with a well-deserved victory for us (6:2, 6:3). In the second doubles, Robert played with Martin, who replaced the injured Kevin. But against the old hands from Linsenhofen, there was simply nothing we could do that day. Too many simple mistakes (perhaps caused by the Ballermann sound from the neighborhood) put us on the losing track (3:6, 1:6). Well looked after by the ladies 29, we already agreed on a rematch in Linsenhofen. Get well soon, Kevin!

ETV Nürtingen - TVG 4:2

In the last game of the season, we had to admit defeat to a strong opponent. In the first singles, JP and his opponent were on equal terms. JP won the first set 6:4, and the hosts won the second set 7:5. So the match tiebreak was needed! Nürtingen had the better end by a very narrow margin of 10:8. In the second singles with Benny, it looked like a clear affair for us at the beginning: Benny won the first set clearly 6:2. He quickly took the lead in the second set too, but then lost the thread and won the second set in the set tiebreak (7:6). Ilkin had to admit defeat in two sets (1:6 and 0:6). As clear as the result was on paper, some of the rallies and games were close. There were always long rallies and games with a better end for the opponent, who played very patiently and almost flawlessly. Frank suffered his first defeat in his singles. He was able to make his mark again and again and win great rallies. In the end, his opponent benefited from his secure serve and won 6:3/6:2. In doubles 1, JP played with Benny. We were already 3:0 behind, but then our doubles pushed themselves, equalized and won the first set in the tiebreak. That was the turning point and JP and Benny won the second set clearly 6:3. In the second doubles, Ilkin and Frank were on the court together for the first time. The two harmonized well: Ilkin was able to get the big Frank into position at the net again and again with long baseline balls. But in the end, the doubles from Nürtingen won, as they had more experience and were more well-rehearsed (2:6/3:6). This means that the amateur men can record an even score in a strong group with two wins and two losses. All players have improved and we have shown that we can keep up with any opponent. Strong performance from all players!
