TC Süßen - Men 1 5:4

Am 14.07.2024 gastierten die Herren 1 beim TC Süßen. Die Vorzeichen waren klar - mit einem Sieg würde man den vorzeitigen Klassenerhalt aus eigener Kraft eintüten. Doch da es auch für Süßen ums blanke Überleben ging, setzten diese gleich zwei starke Er­satzspieler an Position 1 und 2 ein.

Bei besten Wetterbedingungen starteten Mike Kölbl, Marcel Müllerschön und Ma­ximilian Schipke mit den Einzeln. Mike startete passabel in sein Match, jedoch hatte er stets bei engen Spielständen (30:30/Einstand) das Nachsehen, sodass sein Einzel mit 1:6 und 1:6 verloren ging. Das Ergebnis hätte bei Weitem nicht so deutlich ausfallen müssen. Deutlich besser erging es Marcel, welcher im Laufe des Spiels mehr und mehr zur gewohnten Stärke zurückfand und diesen mit 6:4 und 6:1 für sich entscheiden konnte. In fast schon gewohnter Art und Weiße konnte man sich auf Max verlassen. Er dominierte seinen Gegner nach Strich und Faden und gewann sein Einzel mit 6:2 und 6:1. Somit ging es mit einer 2:1 Führung in die zweite Einzelrunde, in welcher dann auch Luca Kleiß, Jannik Lia und Thomas Schulte-Wieking aufschlagen durften. Luca legte gegen seinen an Position 1 eingesetzten Kontrahenten (ein indischer Landsmann, welcher in jüngeren Jahren sogar schon ATP-Punkte auf seinem Konto verbuchen durfte) eine bärenstarke Leistung an den Tag. Am Ende musste er sich unerwartet knapp mit 3:6 und 4:6 geschlagen geben. Im Gegensatz dazu kannte Jannik keine Gnade mit seinem Gegner. Dank einer starken mentalen und läuferischen Leis­tung zwang er den sichtlich gebrochenen Süßen'er mit 6:2 und 6:2 in die Knie. ­ 

Einen bitteren Start in den Tag erwischte dage­gen Thomas, welcher nicht an seine guten Trainingsleistungen anknüpfen konnte. Er musste sich mit 1:6 und 1:6 geschlagen geben, sodass es nach der Einzelrunde 3:3 stand und noch zwei Punkte für den sicheren Klassenerhalt fehlten. Nach einer kurzen Teamsitzung entschied man sich für folgende Aufstellung: Doppel 1 mit Mike und Thomas, Doppel 2 mit Luca und Max, Doppel 3 mit Jannik und Marcel.

Mike und Thomas mussten den ersten Satz mit 2:6 abgeben, fanden im An­schluss daran aber ein stabiles Mittel, um das Ruder herumzureißen. Punkt für Punkt kämpften sie sich durch den zweiten Satz, welcher mit 6:2 gewonnen werden konn­te. Im Match-Tiebreak ließen sie sich trotz Rückstand und weiterer Rückschläge nicht aus dem Konzept bringen und gin­gen mit einem 11:9 als Sieger vom Platz. Das Doppel 2 mit Luca und Max durfte sich u. a. mit dem an Position 1 eingesetz­ten Spieler messen. Trotz starkem Fight und toller Ballwechsel ging das Match mit 4:6 und 3:6 verloren. Im Doppel 3 erlebten Jannik und Marcel eine Achterbahnfahrt der Gefühle. Nach einem quasi perfek­ten 1. Satz, welcher mit 6:1 gewonnen werden konnte, musste man den immer stärker werdenden Gegnern den 2. Satz mit 3:6 überlassen. Somit war klar - es ging auch hier in den Match-Tiebreak. Es wurde nochmals alles in die Waagschale gelegt, doch es sollte nicht reichen. Mit 5:10 wurde der Match-Tiebreak und somit auch der Gesamtspieltag verloren. Trotz der 4:5 Niederlage in Süßen wurde der Klassenerhalt durch den deutlichen 8:1 Sieg von Dettingen/Erms (im Parallelspiel gegen Grötzingen) erreicht. Somit können die Jungs vom TVG entspannt im letzten Saisonspiel gegen den bereits sicher ste­henden Meister aus Dettingen aufspielen. TC Grötzingen - Herren 1 2:7

At the local derby in Grötzingen, both teams wanted to score an important victory in the fight to avoid relegation. The weather conditions were not ideal at first, but the first serve was served promptly at 10:00 a.m. in damp weather.

Mike started brilliantly and secured the first set with 6:0. Mike had to give up the second set against an increasingly strong opponent with 3:6. In the decisive match tiebreak, Mike kept the upper hand with 10:6 thanks to a cool head and intelligent play. Marcel's match went less well. Although he was able to dominate the rallies for the most part with his speed, in the end his own mistakes and the consistency of his opponent were his downfall and he had to admit defeat with 4:6 and 0:6. In contrast, Max once again put in a strong performance. The already well-integrated newcomer never gave his opponent the slightest chance and shot him off the court with 6:0 and 6:0. What a thing! So they went into the second round with a 2:1 lead. Luca put in a strong performance, but in the end the score was 6:7 and 2:6. It's a pity, especially since a set point could not be used in the tiebreak of the first set.

Jannik and Julien were much luckier. Coupled with a strong fighting and running performance, they brought their opponents to their knees and ultimately won deservedly with 6:2 and 6:3 and 6:2 and 6:2. With the score at 4:2, they now needed a doubles match to be able to go home with an away win. Nevertheless, they were determined to get the most out of the doubles and went with Luca/Jannik in doubles 1, Mike/Julien in doubles 2 and Max/Thomas Schulte-Wieking (for Marcel) in doubles 3.

The doubles 1 delivered a real exchange of blows at a high level and provided the best tennis entertainment. This was decided in favor of Luca and Jannik with 6:4 and 6:2. Furthermore, neither Mike/Julien nor Max/Thomas gave their opponents a real chance and kept the upper hand with 6:2/6:1 and 6:2 and 6:4 respectively. After a strong collective performance - on and off the court - an important and deserved 7:2 away victory for Bettlingen was secured, which was enhanced with cold drinks and delicious grilled food. TVG - TC Pliezhausen 3:6

1st match day, stable weather and a very challenging home game against TC Pliezhausen. Last year we had to admit defeat in Pliezhausen with 3:6, so the motivation to take revenge on our home ground was very high.

Luca Kleiß, Mike Kölbl, Marcel Müllerschön, Thomas Schulte-Wieking and the two newcomers Julien Pokroppa and Maximilian Schipke played for Großbettlingen. Mike, Julien and Max started in the first singles round. Unfortunately, Mike was unable to repeat his strong training performance and was ultimately defeated 2:6 and 3:6. Both Julien and Max fared much better. After a brief period of nervousness at the start, both were able to put their stamp on the game and there was virtually never any doubt as to who would leave the court as the winner. Julien won 6:2 and 6:2, Max 6:2 and 6:1. What a strong and great debut for the two newcomers!

Luca, Marcel and Thomas were allowed to start the season in the second singles round. Luca had a very unlucky day as he was unable to play to his usual strength and his opponent played a virtually flawless tennis game. Set 1 and set 2 were lost 1:6. Marcel also had to contend with the same phenomenon. Despite a hard-fought first set, he lost 3:6. In set 2, Marcel was unable to find a way to turn things around and had to concede the match 1:6.

Thomas had the longest singles match of the day and had to concede the first set 6:7 after a strong fight. The second set was also hard fought and was characterized by long, exhausting rallies. However, the momentum was not on the Bettlingen side. The second set was lost 3:6, so the score was 2:4.

Nevertheless, they wanted to resist defeat and continue to show commitment, even if the task (all three doubles had to be won) seemed almost impossible due to the high quality of the guests. Despite this, Luca and Marcel played in the 1st doubles, Mike and Thomas in the 2nd doubles and Julien and Max in the 3rd doubles. They gave it their all on all three courts, but in the end they had to admit defeat in doubles 1 with 0:6 and 3:6 and in doubles 2 with 5:7 and 1:6. Only in doubles 3 were the two newcomers able to confirm their very good performance and leave the court as confident winners with 6:0 and 6:1. Unfortunately, this did not change the fact that the match day was lost 3:6. In the end, it had to be acknowledged that the guests from Pliezhausen were somewhat stronger in terms of breadth and could therefore live up to their role as favorites.

After the game, a short analysis prepared everyone for the upcoming and important away game. On Sunday, July 7th, the men from TVG will be playing at TC Grötzingen at 10:00 a.m., where they hope to score their first win of the season.
