Finally playing the hobby ladies’ round again! But did we have to choose the hottest weekend of the year so far? Since our “home game” took place in Zizishausen (because the Großbettlingen facility was already busy with games of various other teams), we had the hope , the proximity to the Neckar and the old trees would provide some relief. At short notice we were able to agree with our opponents to start at 9:00 a.m. But the air was already "stagnant" on the courts and after the warm-up it was already about . 30 degrees hot! In the singles, Tanja had a "duty to win" because she and her opponent had got the only court that was still in the shade. She lived up to this demand with well-distributed balls, always alternating between forehand and backhand, which often returned her opponent to the “out” (final score 6:2/6:1). Heike and Marcela also won their singles matches confidently (6:1/6:1 and 6:2/6:1 respectively). Petra and her opponent played the longest match. Unfortunately, Petra could not win it (4:6/ 3:6). She proved to be in great shape despite the exceptional heat, whereas her opponent needed a longer break before she could play her doubles match. Petra was already back on the court at Silke's side. With a comfortable 3 The doubles match started with a score of 1:1 for the Großbettlingen girls: there was no shade on any of the courts, no breeze, and the sun was raging. Petra and Silke quickly won the first set. In the second set, their opponents initially led 3: 0, but then the two were able to win six games in a row and thus also the second set (6:3/6:3). Marcela and Heike played as a well-rehearsed team (which shows that a winter subscription makes sense) and won the first set with tried and tested moves. Then the game was a bit slow, and longer breaks from their opponents almost threw the two of them off their rhythm. But they pulled themselves together again and when the score was 6:2 and 3:2, their opponents gave up due to injuries or fitness issues. The successful first match day for the amateur ladies ended with a burger meal at “Archie's”. Thanks to the nice, cheerful Players from Zizishausen for their hospitality and the relaxed atmosphere! And of course a thank you to the hobby colleagues from Großbettlingen who came especially to watch!

Das Auswärtsspiel in Leinfelden wurde zu einem Heimspiel für die Großbettlinger Damen, da es aufgrund eines Wasserschadens im Vereinsheim in Leinfelden auf der Großbettlinger Anlage gespielt wurde. Bei hochsommerlichen Temperaturen von 25° Grad bereits zu Beginn der Einzel um 10.00 Uhr war ein anstrengendes Spiel zu erwarten. Patrizia und Sarah hatten an 1 und 2 keinerlei Chancen gegen sehr gut spielende Gegnerinnen. Tanja und Heike hingegen konnten an 3 und 4 ihre Spiele deutlich für sich entscheiden. Somit stand es nach den Einzeln 2:2 und es blieb damit auch im Doppel spannend. Monika und Margit kamen als frische Kräfte hinzu und teilten sich in Doppel 1 und 2 auf. Tanja und Moni hatten gegen die sicher spielenden Gegner keine Chance, jedoch konnten Margit und Sarah ihr Spiel deutlich gewinnen. Nun stand es 3:3 und es musste bei mittlerweile über 30 Grad genau ausgerechnet werden, wer denn nun gewonnen hatte. Leider hatten unsere Gegner aus Leinfelden drei Spiele mehr gewonnen und den Gesamtsieg geholt.
